About the role

Provide academic and clinical teaching for undergraduate and residency levels, including the supervision of dental students. Deliver patient care within the Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and Acute Care Clinics.

Part-Time Faculty Member Department of Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery The University of Maryland, Department of Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery, is seeking applications for 4 part-time faculty members at the rank of Clinical Instructor in the Department of Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery. There will be three positions at a 0.2 FTE (1 day per week) position and one position as a 0.4 FTE (2 days per week). Responsibilities include academic and clinical teaching at undergraduate and residency levels, supervision of dental students, and care of patients in the Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic and the Acute Care Clinic at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Receipt of a DDS, DMD, or equivalent degree, and eligibility for licensure to practice dentistry in Maryland are required.

Possession of or eligibility for a class III anesthesia permit in the State of Maryland is highly desirable.

Candidates should have formal residency training in Oral Surgery/Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Exceptional applicants who have not completed formal residency training but possess significant oral surgery experience or preliminary training in OMFS may also be considered.

Experience in undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching is an added advantage.
