The Assistant Volleyball Coach is a member of the Reinhardt University Athletic Department. The coach is responsible for maintaining positive public relations for the Athletic Department and for the development of the student athletes within the intercollegiate volleyball program. Minimum Education & Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree is preferred. In lieu of degree, relevant work experience may be considered. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a High School Coach or as a Collegiate Head/Assistant Coach. Primary Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions: Plan and develop a winning volleyball program, including the recruitment of quality players and coaches along with game scheduling; Staffing, Equipment and Coordination Help coordinate game planning, player supervision, player instruction; aid in practices; partners with the strength and conditioning program; responsible for the upkeep and distribution of the equipment; coordinate events, times and locations with players; coordinate the times in which the team can use facilities in conjunction with other sport teams or events, ex. travel arrangements and camps. Conducting/Supervising Practices Develop the practice outline and script each week; Observes the drills and interjects when necessary; Mentor, Teach and Monitor Players Mentor for their players; encourage the players; Monitor academic performance and personal development of athletes to ensure appropriate compliance standards both on and off the field; involved with his players' academics by making sure they are staying on top of their grades to remain eligible, uphold school policies, communicate with players on a constant basis; Recruiting study prospects; visit possible recruits; and, communicates regularly with the prospects to create campus visits. Demonstrate an appreciation for the values of Reinhardt University through personal character and communicate campus living expectations to student athletes; Promote intercollegiate athletics in the spirit of NAIA and conference policies and procedures; Other duties as assigned. Work Environment/Physical Requirements of the Job: Physical ability to occasionally lift to 50 pounds, and on a continuous basis lifting 20 or more pounds. Physical ability to complete work assignments that may require stooping, crouching, climbing, kneeling, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. Working environment is both indoors and outdoors.
