SACC - Associate Teacher

Position summary

Instructs children in developmentally appropriate activities designed to promote social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and creative growth in the YMCA of Muncie.

Essential functions

• 1.
• Assists the site director in implementing an emergent curriculum and provocations in a before and after school child care setting, focusing on children’s needs and interests.
• 2.
• Maintains effective and appropriate communication (written, verbal, and non-verbal) with all program constituents.
• 3.
• Assists the site director in maintaining all required documentation.
• 4.
• Implements and adheres to health and safety policies/procedures, and all other quality standards set forth by partnering/regulatory agencies.
• 5.
• Upholds all policies, practices, and procedures of the YMCA of Muncie.
• 6.
• Partners with families; through engaging them in the program and connecting families to each other.
• 7.
• Keep abreast of current knowledge in child development and best practices working with children.
• 8.
• Keep all trainings and requirements up to date.
• 9.
• All other duties as assigned.
