As a Preschool Teacher at Merryhill School, you’ll play a central role in nurturing the growth, curiosity, and early development of our youngest learners. Preschoolers thrive with structure, exploration, and warm, responsive caregiving—and your classroom will provide the secure, joyful spaces they need to build confidence and independence. You will also: Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum focused on sensory exploration, early language, gross and fine motor development, and social-emotional growth Foster a consistent and comforting daily routine that supports toddlers’ need for structure and security Encourage independence through gentle guidance, responsive caregiving, and purposeful play Collaborate with fellow early childhood educators and school leadership to ensure alignment in instructional practices and care standards Communicate daily with parents through verbal updates, digital reports, and informal check-ins Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment aligned with licensing standards and school policies What We’re Looking For 12 semester (or 18 quarter) units in Early Childhood Education, including coursework in child development, curriculum, and family/community Experience working with preschoolers in a licensed child care setting preferred Deep patience, nurturing instincts, and a genuine love for children and early learning Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with both children and families Reliable, collaborative, and committed to high-quality care and education To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
