The teacher is responsible for implementing IEP/IFSP goals and managing classroom behaviors for students with disabilities. They must evaluate students using standardized testing and supervise assigned classroom staff to ensure a safe learning environment.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Special Education and a valid NYSED certification in Special Education (Birth-2nd grade, Permanent, or Severe/Multiple Disabilities). Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds and respond quickly to prevent student elopement is required.

As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities in their daily lives. You will work closely with them, by implementing their IEP/IFSP, promoting their well-being, and helping them progress toward their goals. You will work closely with and manage assigned classroom staff. This is a truly rewarding opportunity to build meaningful relationships and make a tangible difference.
