· Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment · Create and implement fun and engaging plans with the guidance of the Program Coordinator · Support each child’s social and emotional development and provide positive guidance · Establish an effective classroom, responsive to each child’s needs · Adhere to all NYS regulations and Goddard School policies and procedures General Qualifications and Skills: · The ability to understand and support the education program using a “learning through play” philosophy · The ability to interact closely with children at their level · The ability to keep children within sight and sound supervision at all times · The ability to change children’s diapers and/or assist in toileting (where necessary) · Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field preferred · Strong verbal and written communication skills · Ability to work as part of a team and take directions · Ability to multi-task · Candidate must be flexible and able to respond to change as needed · Candidate must be passionate about working with children and bring a positive attitude each and every day!
