Independent Nursing Care (INC) is seeking Substitute School Nurses to provide essential health services and support to students in local schools on an as-needed basis. This role involves administering medications, responding to student health concerns, managing chronic conditions, and ensuring a safe and healthy school environment. The ideal candidate is a skilled, compassionate nurse with strong assessment and communication abilities, comfortable working independently in a school setting.
Key
Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care to students, including medication administration and first aid. Respond to illnesses, injuries, and emergencies within the school setting. Monitor and manage chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and allergies. Maintain accurate health records and document care in compliance with school policies. Communicate with parents, school staff, and healthcare providers regarding student health needs. Promote a safe and healthy school environment through education and preventive care.
Active RN or LPN license in NYS School nursing experience preferred but not required. Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills. Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments and policies. CPR and First Aid certification required.
