Program and Role Summary Wayfinder’s Medical Department provides 24-hour services to residents of our three on-campus residential programs, plus students in our Special Education School. Many have complex, intertwined medical, mental health and behavioral needs, which our medical staff are adept at addressing. Medical department staff are nurses, and we contract with a psychiatrist, nurse practitioner, endocrinologist and behavioral psychologist. The primary focus of Licensed Vocational Nurse, is to assist in the planning, organizing, developing and directing Medical Service in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations and is directed by the Director of Nursing Services to assure that the highest degree of quality student care can be maintained at all times. Highest priority will be given to ensure the health and safety of the students, residents and staff of Wayfinder Family Services. All services will be provided within the Licensed Vocational Nursing scope of practice.

Sunday from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm The hourly wage range for this role is $27.00. - $29.00.

Primary

Responsibilities: Medication distribution and healthcare management of residents. Make written and verbal reports/recommendations to the Director of Nursing concerning the operation of the nursing unit/shift. Monitor residents to assure that personnel are properly administering prescribed treatment. Chart nurse's progress in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided as well as the resident’s response to the care. Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.

QualificationsEducation and

Experience: Active California LVN license required. CPR certification required. 1 year of nursing experience preferred. Pediatrics, Group homes, Psychiatric, or Diabetic Care experience preferred. Willingness and ability to make frequent field visits, attend meetings, conferences and other job related events away from headquarters. If driving a personal or agency vehicle, must be insurable by our agency’s automobile insurance carrier.

Requirements

Candidates must hold an active California LVN license and a CPR certification. One year of nursing experience, particularly in pediatrics, psychiatric, or diabetic care, is preferred.
