Job Description

La Salle Academy, an all-male college preparatory high school, seeks an experienced college counselor. Located in the East Village neighborhood of New York City, La Salle Academy is a small school with a 177 year history that enrolls a culturally diverse student population. It is a member of the international network of Lasallian Schools.

Education

Master's Degree or higher.

Experience

3-5 years of college counseling experience desired. However, those with less experience may be considered. Familiarity/expertise with Naviance, The Common Application, and the CUNY application preferred. FACTS SIS knowledge a bonus.

Timeframe

End-August- June 30th .

Duties

Guide 11th and 12th grade students through the college application process. Critique college essays. Process college applications. Offer academic and personal counseling to the students. Communicate with parents, students, faculty, and administration regularly. Advertise and monitor college representative visits. Keep detailed accurate records.

Salary

$56,719 + starting salary commensurate with experience and credentials.

Requirements

A Master's Degree or higher is required, with 3-5 years of college counseling experience desired. Proficiency with Naviance, The Common Application, and the CUNY application is preferred.
