Provides comprehensive reproductive health care, including pelvic exams, contraception, and abortion care under medical supervision. Additionally, the role involves administrative quality assurance and the training of new clinical staff.

Responsible for assessing, planning and administering health care which is individualized to the patient and consistent with the policies and protocols of PPFA and PPGNY.
Secures a complete health history and performs physical examinations with special emphasis on the reproductive health care, and other types of more specialized reproductive care including abortion care, and transgender hormone therapy.
Provides medications and contraceptive devices as needed.
Monitors medical aspects of all medical services offered at the health center, acting as a resource to center staff and patients regarding medical concerns.
Performs, orders and interprets appropriate laboratory tests.
Provides education and appropriate management for women and men in need of reproductive related services, including fertility control, infertility, and sexually transmitted infections.
Assesses and manages gynecological conditions and provides treatment consistent with PPGNY protocols, policies, and procedures.
Ensures appropriate medical follow-up on all patient testing and/or treatment, including direct patient contacts and laboratory test review.
Create & maintain medical documentation in an EHR system in compliance with EHR policies and procedures.
Provides postpartum care in selected settings within an interdisciplinary team framework with appropriate pre-service and in-service education.
Seeks consultations as necessary from Medical Director or designee.
Collaborates with physicians and other members of the health care team and makes referrals to medical and community resources as indicated.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION Minimum education
Graduation from a formal and accredited Nurse Practitioner Program such as Ob/Gyn Women’s Health Care or Family Planning Nurse Practitioner Program plus New York State Licensure.
Graduation from a formal and accredited Physician Assistant program plus New York State Licensure.
Graduation from a formal and accredited Nurse Midwifery program plus New York State Licensure.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
Current BLS and ACLS Certification Minimum work experience
New graduates welcomed Licensure/Certifications
State license as a Physician Assistant, Midwife or Nurse Practitioner and be certified by a national credentialing body.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS This job operates in a professional office environment. Potential exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions in a health center environment. May require travel to other health centers, at times in inclement weather. Requires flexible schedule and during peak activity periods work in excess of 7.5 hours per day and/or 37.5 hours per week.
