Job Description

Job Title: Teacher Assistant Supervisor: Lead Teacher FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Prepared Date: 04/26/2021 Summary An effective Teacher Assistant works with the Teacher and Lead Teacher to implement the school instructional program and provides strong instructional support to peers and other staff members. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Teacher and Lead Teacher to implement the instructional program in our facility. Our Teacher Assistant will be responsible to ensure he/she meets all program goals and requirements set forth by the Lead Teacher and to utilize all the necessary resources provided to help the Teacher and Lead Teacher to meet all program curriculum requirements and to ensure all student needs are met. Our Teacher Assistant will be responsible to assist in the implementation of an effective instructional model incorporating a blended teaching model. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include the following. Other duties may be assigned.) Uphold our educational policies and integrate the common core government guidelines into each class curriculum. Implement benchmarks for students, assist with the tracking of progress towards those goals and report student achievement as required by the Teacher/Lead Teacher. Implement programs that improve staff performance that results in student and organizational success. Provide support to the school’s network of instructional leaders and assist those leaders to make the school a better place. Respond immediately to concerns from students, school administrators or facilities managers. Qualifications Ability and willingness to develop his/her instructional skills under the direct supervision of the Teacher, Lead Teacher and Principal. Education and/or Experience Minimum of a high school diploma from an accredited high school preferably with some college credits Minimum of 2 years of work experience Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public. Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Paycom, and Electronic Case Management software. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations CPR/First Aid, 15 passenger van, Handle with Care, TBRI, and all other DFPS mandated training (training on the job). Valid Texas Driver's License Have a record of tuberculosis screening showing the employee is free of contagious TB.
