About the role

Provides quality clinical care to patients and student-athletes through assessment, planning, and implementation of treatment. Acts as an educational resource for staff and coaches while coordinating care between the clinic and high school athletic departments.

Job Requirements A Day in the Life of a CRMG Athletic Trainer

Works under the clinical supervision of the practice physician(s)/office manager/supervisor and is responsible for assisting the physician and advanced practice practitioners. Serves as a clinical and educational resource for staff, students, student athletes, area coaches, athletic directors, and physicians while providing quality care to patients of all ages through the proper utilization of assessment, planning, implementation, and instruction.

Promotes teamwork between patient, physician/advanced practice practitioner, or physician staff.

Takes patient history, initial examination, capture vitals, suture removal, wound care, dressing/cast application, injection preparation, durable medical equipment application, and confirm allergies.

Provides patient set-up and education of in office procedures.

Prepares for and assists physician within office procedures.

Triages patient messages, phone calls, and questions appropriately, whether it is resolving issue within scope of practice or utilizing physician, nurse triage, and other ancillary staff as needed.

Maintains clinic flow between all areas of the clinic.

Counsels/Educates patient regarding diagnosis, home exercise protocols, treatment options, durable medical equipment application, and outcomes.

Serves as clinical and educational resource for staff, students, area coaches, athletic directors, and physicians while providing quality care to patients of all ages as needed.

Completes special projects as assigned.

Liaises between clinic and Community College Athletics department & High School Athletic Trainers.

Covers clinic and/or area high schools as needed/assigned.

Desired Skills: Knowledge of a large range of medical problems, assessment, and evaluation skills Decision-making skills and ability to think/react quickly Skilled in attention to detail Interpersonal Skills, remaining calm and rational when talking to patients, medical professionals, staff, and families Strong communication skills (reading, writing, oral, and comprehension) Good presentation skills, able to speak in front of large and small groups of people at varying age levels Ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks with little or no supervision Ability to work nights/weekends as needed Ability to interact respectfully with diverse cultural and socio-economic populations Here is What You Need: License (must meet one of the following): Current Wyoming Athletic Trainer license from the Wyoming State Board of Athletic Training 120 Days: Current Wyoming Athletic license from the Wyoming State Board of Athletic Training within one-hundred twenty (120) days of start date Current Athletic Trainer (AT) certification from the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC) 14 Days: Cheyenne Regional AHA RQI within fourteen (14) calendar days of start date Nice to Have: Master’s Degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or Related Field of Sports Medicine Prior experience in athletic training About Cheyenne Regional: Cheyenne Regional Medical Center was founded in 1867 as a tent hospital by the Union Pacific Railroad to treat workers injured while building the transcontinental railroad.

Requirements

Requires a current Wyoming Athletic Trainer license or BOC certification. A Master's degree in Athletic Training or a related sports medicine field is preferred.
