  • Miami-Dade County Do You Have Experience Working with Elementary-Aged Children? The YWCA South Florida Global Education Program is looking for enthusiastic, dependable individuals to lead engaging after-school learning experiences for elementary students. As a Global Education Ambassador, you'll inspire children through books, hands-on projects, games, and cultural exploration while helping them build literacy, empathy, curiosity, and global awareness. No lesson planning required! What You'll Do Lead engaging, pre-designed lessons for students in grades K-5. Read children's books and facilitate discussions. Guide hands-on projects, games, and creative activities. Encourage teamwork, confidence, and curiosity. Collaborate with school staff and the Global Education Manager. Participate in a brief weekly lesson preparation meeting. A typical afternoon includes leading two to three small groups of elementary students through engaging activities centered around a weekly learning theme. We Provide Everything You Need You'll receive: Ready-to-teach lesson plans Children's books and activity materials Hands-on supplies and games Weekly lesson preparation and training Ongoing support throughout the school year Your role is simple: bring the lessons to life and create an engaging experience for students. Schedule Monday-Friday Approximately 2:30 PM-6:00 PM Up to 18 hours per week Pay $23 per hour Independent Contractor Locations This position serves elementary schools in: South Miami Heights Hialeah Miami Gardens Ideal Candidates We're looking for individuals with experience working with elementary-aged children, including: College students or recent graduates in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Child Development, or related fields Retired teachers Tutors After-school program instructors Summer camp counselors Childcare professionals Youth program leaders Paraprofessionals Substitute teachers At least one year of experience working with elementary-aged children in a school, camp, childcare, tutoring, or youth program setting is strongly preferred. Teaching certification is not required.

Requirements

Available Monday-Friday between approximately 2:30 PM and 6:00 PM Must have reliable transportation to travel between assigned Miami-Dade school sites Successfully pass a background check and drug screening before beginning work Why You'll Love This Role Unlike many teaching positions, you won't spend your evenings creating lesson plans or purchasing classroom supplies. We'll provide everything you need so you can focus on what matters most: inspiring children through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences while being part of a supportive team.

  • Friendly, clear communicators who love working with kids. - Commitment to cultural awareness, equity, and inclusion. - Comfortable leading reading and activities with elementary-aged students. - Available between 2:30–6:00 PM, Monday–Friday (afterschool hours). - Willing to travel to Miami-Dade partner school sites. - Teaching certification is not required, though a college degree and experience working with youth are strongly preferred.Preferred but not required: - Experience in teaching, camps, youth programs, SEL, or literacy. - Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus! - College students or graduates in education, social work, psychology, or related fields.
