The intern provides basic patient care and assistance with daily activities within a clinical setting. Responsibilities also include performing documentation, maintaining sanitation standards, and completing delegated administrative projects.
Candidates must be high school students part of a pre-approved Sanford clinical internship program. A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
Works collaboratively with organization leadership, enhancing knowledge and skills and improving the delivery of quality healthcare. Assists in a clinical setting with direct patient care, based on assigned department/team with delegated responsibilities. Complies with all patient safety related duties assigned. Will provide assistance with basic patient health care needs and daily activities within scope of practice. Will perform documentation regarding care and services, or other clerical work related to the department assigned. Responsible for following sanitation standards and stocking of supplies as necessary in environment where assigned. Assists in the completion of projects and administrative duties delegated, while developing skills related to the assigned function and/or location. Attends training and development opportunities, learning about various processes and functions within the organization. Qualifications Part of a pre-approved Sanford clinical internship program as a high school student. Knowledge of healthcare industry helpful. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
