Provide direct one-on-one support to children by implementing individualized behavior intervention plans and structured teaching programs under the supervision of a behavior consultant. Qualifications Required Experience working with children (preferred in ABA, special education, or related field) Ability to follow detailed behavior intervention and instructional plans Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations Willingness to work in both center-based and in-home settings Preferred / Competencies Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles Familiarity with DTT (Discrete Trial Training), task analysis, verbal behavior, and incidental teaching Understanding of prompt hierarchy, PECS, and behavior reduction strategies Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple clients and data systems Physical Requirements Ability to actively engage with children in a clinical or home environment May require sitting, standing, kneeling, and quick response to client needs Ability to transport materials and participate in home-based sessions as needed Pre-Employment Requirements Valid and current auto insurance California Driver’s License Successful criminal background check Reference verification Education verification Immunization records Negative TB test What You’ll Do Main Job Duties Work one-on-one with children to implement individualized lessons and behavior intervention plans as directed by a behavior consultant Deliver instruction including specific target responses, prompting levels, and consequence procedures Accurately collect and record data for each session using designated data sheets or online systems Monitor and document client progress through daily session notes and medical documentation Communicate regularly with behavior consultants regarding progress, challenges, and training needs Ensure understanding of each client’s goals and behavior plans Support behavior reduction strategies for behaviors such as tantrums, aggression, and other behavior excesses Participate in in-home and center-based services as scheduled, including monthly home visits when assigned to center-based programs Complete billing and timekeeping records accurately and on time Obtain parent signatures and complete required daily documentation Maintain professional communication, punctuality, and adherence to schedules and supervision Participate in meetings, trainings, and supervision overlaps Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and chain of command Center-Based Paraprofessional Additional Duties Complete daily communication logs Assist with diapering and personal care needs when required Support general upkeep and organization of the center Arrive 5 minutes early to prepare materials, review schedule, and set up for sessions Compensation: $18.36 - $26.00/hour Paid training (RBT, DSP I/II, CPI, Ukeru) RBT Test Reimbursement Ongoing professional development (CEUs) Life & AD&D coverage at no cost to you Comprehensive EAP—100% employer-funded Why Advance Kids? Qualifications Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Physical Demands: Employees who work 1:1 with children diagnosed with autism need to be physically fit for the job by being able to lift 50 lbs.; sit on the floor and small child size chairs; stand; walk; run; climb; bend; stoop; reach; kneel; crawl; push; normal visual, vocal & hearing acuity; use of a computer; ability to write; vocal communication; maintain overall energy during the entire shift. Background Checks and/or Licensing: Must be 18 years of age or older; criminal background check; reference checks; physical; provide a negative TB test and immunization records; education verification. Other Requirements: Must have reliable means of transportation and availability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week; and have access to a computer with knowledge of internet, e-mail and Microsoft Office applications.
