The Certified Nurse Midwife provides care to women and their families throughout their lifespan, performing assessments and procedures within the scope of midwifery practice. Responsibilities include diagnosing conditions and ordering appropriate treatments and medications.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Nurse Midwife Program and hold current licensure in Pennsylvania. Additional requirements include certification from the American Midwifery Certification Board and relevant background clearances.

Performs procedures within the scope of midwifery practice as defined by the American College of Nurse Midwives and outlined in the practice guidelines. (50%) Performs assessments of physical, psychosocial and educational needs. (25%) Provides diagnosis and order appropriate treatment and medication. (25%) Performs other duties as assigned or required. Travel required between Jefferson Hospital and Forbes Hospital QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Graduate of Nurse Midwife Program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME) Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
