Are you passionate about student success and accessibility? Hastings College is seeking a Student Disability & Accommodations Specialist starting in the summer of 2026. This role involves creating and implementing accommodation plans in compliance with ADA and Section 504, collaborating with students, faculty, and staff. The Student Disability & Accommodations Specialist is a part-time hourly role that works a flexible schedule up to 20 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and implement accommodation plans for students with disabilities.
  • Stay current on state and federal regulations by maintaining AHEAD membership.
  • Provide individualized support to students, helping them communicate their needs and advocate for themselves.
  • Serve on institutional committees related to ADA compliance and student success.
  • Oversee the Studio 200 Testing Center and mentor graduate assistants and staff.
  • Hire and supervise note-takers and student workers.
  • Utilize technology to enhance accessibility and student learning.

What We’re Looking For

Experience in accessibility services, student support, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of ADA, Section 504, and best practices in disability accommodations.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Education & Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in education, disability studies, special education, psychology, educational psychology, rehabilitation counseling, or a related field is required or equivalent experience in lieu of education. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • Experience creating, documenting, tracking & helping implement appropriate accommodation plans for students with disabilities in compliance with ADA and 504 is preferred.

Requirements
