Market context

Oregon school-based COTA roles stay competitive

In Oregon, school-based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant roles are typically driven by ongoing demand for student support services, especially in districts serving children with developmental, sensory, or fine-motor needs. These positions are competitive because employers often want a COTA with pediatric or school experience, current state licensure or certification, and an associate’s degree. Review the AI-summarized requirements and benefits here to save time, then confirm your experience matches the onsite setting before applying.

Quick overview

The COTA will implement individualized occupational therapy interventions and treatment plans for PreK-12 students to promote independence in daily life skills. Key duties include conducting assessments, collaborating with educational teams, and documenting student progress within IEP frameworks.

Requirements summary

Candidates must hold an Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant and a valid state licensure or certification as a COTA. Previous experience in a pediatric or school setting is required.
