Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is hiring a Child and Family Care Coordinator to support our Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) program. In this role, you will provide direct support to young children and their families, helping them navigate behavioral health and developmental systems. This position blends care coordination, parent education, community outreach, and early intervention to ensure families receive comprehensive, culturally responsive support.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family, Relational Counseling, Social Work, or a related Social Services, or mental health field degree. EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Minimum of 2 years of job-related experience working with 0-5 age range. (can include graduate internship) OR certification in 1+ of the following infant/early childhood evidence based practices: Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-up (ABC) Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) Infant-Parent Psychotherapy (IPP) Promoting First Relationships (PFR) Theraplay National Child Traumatic Stress Network Learning Collaborative LICENSES/CREDENTIALS: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration.
EDUCATION: Minimum of 2 years of job-related experience with preferred experience working with other service providers and child and family systems, 2 years with 0-5 age range, and evidenced-based practice. EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Knowledge of IECMH principles, early relational health, and child development. A strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. The ability to work collaboratively with families, service providers, and community partners. A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in service delivery. LICENSES/CREDENTIALS: Washington License (LICSW, LMFT, or LMHC) preferred, Infant Early Childhood Endorsement. Performance Requirements: KNOWLEDGE: Maintain a working knowledge of current trends in community mental health, including health care reform and automation of job tasks using computer technology. Maintain a working knowledge of mental health rehabilitation standards. SKILLS: Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, clients, organizations, and the public. Communication ‑ Communicates clearly and concisely. Computer skills ‑ Ability to operate a personal computer, fax machine, printer, and copier proficiently. ABILITIES: Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed productivity standards. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively as a team member. Able to assist in building positive working relationships with staff of all agency departments. Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc. Work Environment: Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods. Mental/Physical Requirements: While performing the job duties, the employee is required to walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, talk, or listen. Peripheral vision is also required for this position.
