Compliance: Ensures department’s compliance with all regulatory, DNV, mandatory education, and similar requirements. Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Identifies unit/department level goals that align with the organization's Key Performance Indicators. HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) If, in the normal course of my duties and responsibilities, I am required to access protected health information (PHI) and electronic protected health information (EPHI) for the purposes of treatment, payment and operations within Northeast Georgia Health System, I will limit such access to only the minimum necessary amount of PHI and EPHI necessary to perform the functions of my job. If access is not required in the normal course of my duties and responsibilities, I will not access PHI or EPHI.

Job Specific and Unique

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must be a registered nurse in the state of Georgia for a minimum of two years of active licensure. Must understand the requirements of the program and those requirements of the Georgia Board of Nursing. Must have the ability to work with a variety of personalities, ages, and diverse ethnic cultures in a professional manner. Essential Tasks and Responsibilities Responsible for interviewing candidates for appropriateness for the RN Reentry Program. Responsible for educating the applicant on the requirements of the program and the requirements of the Georgia Board of Nursing as it pertains to the RN Reentry Program. Assists in locating clinical placement for the required clinical hours. Communicates with the clinical facility to initiate an agreement if needed. Works with the clinical facility to coordinate the preceptor and educate the preceptor on their requirements for a clinical rotation with a reentry nurse. Monitors and ensures the requirements for both the Educational Center and the specific clinical site have been met prior to the start of the clinical rotation. Submits a proposal to the Georgia Board of Nursing that includes specific learning objectives for the applicants specific clinical setting. Completes all Form A and will complete Form B at the appropriate time and submits it the Board of Nursing. Monitors the administration of the forty hours of didacitc for continuing education hours. Grades and reviews the corrections with the reentry applicant. Submits required paperwork for the continuing hours certificate. Responsible for inspection of the six months temporary permit prior to beginning clinical. Coordinates the clinical with the identified preceptor and communicates with the preceptor on the requirements and the progress of the reentry nurse. At the completion of the clinical portions, the coordinator reviews all clinical paperwork to make sure the requirements have been met and then submits the final paperwork to the Board of Nursing.
