Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: The Department of Occupational Therapy is seeking applicants for adjunct faculty positions. Adjunct faculty teach a variety of classes in undergraduate pre-OT coursework and co-teach with full-time faculty in the graduate MSOT program. Applicants should indicate their educational background and clinical expertise, as well as their availability and ability to teach online or in a hybrid format.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in occupational therapy Clinical experience as a registered and licensed occupational therapist Strong written and oral communication skills Willingness to learn classroom technology to support student learning Experience and ability to positively interact with all members of the campus community Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodations. WORKING CONDITIONS: Duties are generally performed inside a classroom environment, with occasional requirements to engage in administrative tasks outside the classroom. Some weeknights and weekends may be required depending on the course schedule and student needs. Scheduled weekly hours vary depending on class contract load. Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The above reflects the general details considered necessary to describe the essential functions of the job. More than 70 percent of SVSU freshmen live on campus in student housing that has been rated No. 1 among public universities in the U.S. (2018-2025).
