Our after care program gives children a safe, engaging, and predictable end to their school day through snack, enrichment activities, outdoor or indoor play, and calm transitions to pickup.
Position Overview We are hiring reliable After Care Educators to support children ages 2–5 during our afternoon program. This is a great role for college students, education majors, high school seniors who are 18+, emerging educators, or experienced childcare professionals looking for consistent afternoon hours. You do not need to have a formal education degree, but you do need to be dependable, attentive, safety-minded, and comfortable actively engaging with young children.
What Success Looks Like in This Role You are successful when children are safe, supervised, engaged, and accounted for throughout the afternoon. You participate fully during vendor-led activities, support snack and play, help children with toileting or diapering as needed, and communicate clearly with the After Care Coordinator and teaching team.
Key Responsibilities Supervise children closely and maintain name-to-face awareness during transitions, play, snack, and pickup Support a consistent age-group team, such as younger children ages 2–3 or older preschool children Assist with snack, handwashing, bathroom routines, diaper changes, and potty support Actively participate with children during enrichment vendors, games, outdoor play, and free play Help children move safely between spaces and maintain calm, organized transitions Communicate professionally with staff and families at pickup Follow school safety, supervision, and childcare procedures Keep phones away during work time except for school-related communication or emergencies
