About the role

The Aftercare Teacher is responsible for planning and executing educational activities while supervising students in both indoor and outdoor settings. Key duties include monitoring student behavior, managing attendance, and ensuring a quiet environment for homework completion.

Duties: of Aftercare teachers include, but are not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities

  • Taking daily attendance
  • Planning and executing educational in-class and outdoor activities and events
  • Supervising students during reactional activities
  • Observing and understanding student behaviors
  • Monitoring students for allergic reactions
  • Reporting injuries or behavioral issues to director immediately
  • Ensuring constant communication with reception desk teacher so students can be dismissed promptly
  • Providing students with orderly and quiet environments to complete homework
  • Encouraging students to be respectful of the school and property by leaving classroom, hallways, and activity area neat and orderly
  • Skills
  • Knowledge of teaching best practices partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Well-organized, creative, and energetic
  • Strong moral values and discipline
  • Knowledge of CPR, First Aid and use of the AED

Requirements

Candidates should possess strong communication skills and a commitment to following school policies and procedures. Certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED use is required.
