• Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one tutoring for high school students (Grades 9–12) in English Language Arts Support students in literature, reading comprehension, academic and creative writing, grammar, vocabulary, and composition Assist with homework, essay writing, study skills, executive functioning, and test preparation, including SAT/ACT verbal sections when appropriate Develop individualized learning plans based on each student's needs and academic goals Monitor student progress and provide regular updates to families Foster a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment Travel to students' homes throughout the Northern Los Angeles area

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in English, English Education, Literature, or a related field required; teaching credential or advanced degree preferred Valid California teaching credential or equivalent is highly preferred Experience teaching or tutoring high school English students Strong knowledge of high school English curriculum, literature, writing instruction, and grammar Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Reliable transportation Authorized to work in the United States
