Requires a Bachelor's degree in education, a valid NC Teacher License, and at least 3 years of relevant classroom experience. Must have experience teaching mathematics and working with adolescent youth in grades 6-12.

Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida Tennessee and Kentucky. Thompson’s continuum of care encompasses three domains: prevention, mental health services and foster care. All Thompson programs are trauma-informed and evidence-based/evidence-informed with the intention of building resilience in our clients (ages 0-18) and their families, both virtually and in person. Minimum Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in education or related field Minimum of 3 years of relevant classroom experience Experience working with trauma-informed strategies or pedagogies preferred Experience teaching mathematics needed. NC Teacher License Required. Experience with adolescent youth ranging from 6th-12th grade Estimated classroom size 5-8 adolescents, provision of online learning support (Ed Genuity), and small group instruction. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite application software, excellent written and oral communication skills. A valid Driver’s license, at least 3 years of driving with a driver’s license and clean driving record are required. All potential job candidates must pass a drug screening test, and an extensive background check is required.
