Job description

  • Professional Development Community Education Instructor Adjunct Faculty appointments are located on Parkland College's Campus in Champaign, Illinois.
  • Assignment availability is dependent on market demand and enrollment.
  • This position has a salary range of $50.00 - 150.00 per hour commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  • This is a pooled position, which means applications are accepted year-round.

  • Engage and interact effectively with students of all ages and abilities, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment Utilize a variety of teaching methods and adapt instructional methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles, ensuring that course content is accessible and comprehensible for adult learners Connect course material to learners’ real work and goals; provide opportunities and tools for learners to immediately apply learned skills Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to convey complex concepts in an engaging and understandable manner Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to create a positive and interactive classroom experience Other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or applicable experience.
  • Prior experience or proficiency in proposed area of instruction.
  • Prospective new hires will successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check with fingerprinting.
  • The background check review includes, but is not limited to, exclusionary offenses per the Illinois School Code and Title IV of the Higher Education Act.
