About the role

The role involves teaching up to seven graduate courses per year across various campus and online platforms. Additionally, the professor is responsible for committee service and integrating research into course development.

The University of Maryland School of Social Work (UMSSW) invites nominations and applications for a non-tenure track, full time (10-month) faculty position at the Clinical Assistant Professor rank. We seek instructors with social work practice experience and the ability to teach in the clinical concentration. We are also looking for instructors who are committed to advancing knowledge, driving meaningful social impact, and preparing the next generation of practitioners and leaders in social work.

UMSSW is one of the largest and most respected schools of social work in the United States, consistently ranked among the top programs in scholarly productivity and reputation.

This non-tenured faculty position is responsible for teaching up to 7 graduate courses per year with accompanying committee service.

UMSSW has a need for faculty to teach at all of the school’s programs including our main campus in Baltimore, our satellite program in Rockville, MD, and our online MSW program.

Located in downtown Baltimore, our School is part of a vibrant academic health and human services campus.

We welcome candidates with a MSW with at least four years of practice experience for teaching in the MSW program and those who demonstrate: An expertise in teaching and mentoring students to work with diverse populations and communities.

A commitment to excellence in teaching, mentorship, and student success.

A dedication to advancing equity and justice through anti-oppressive and anti-racist approaches.

The ability to integrate research and scholarship into course development, assignments, and lectures.

A collaborative spirit that advances interdisciplinary scholarship and community-engaged partnerships.
