Create and implement rigorous reading and math intervention programs for struggling students in Tier II and Tier III. Collaborate with teachers and special educators to monitor student progress and administer diagnostic assessments.
Candidates must hold at least a Bachelor's degree and have K-12 teaching experience. Proficiency in Guided Reading, Benchmark assessments, and small group instruction is required, with Singapore Math preferred.
Location: Great Hearts Harveston Upper School (11801 Bluebonnet Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70810) Instructional Interventionists create a rigorous intervention program for students who have been identified as requiring math and reading interventions for struggling students, Tier II and Tier III interventions, and to support universal screenings, data entry, and data teams. Provide small group reading or math interventions for students identified as needing math, and/or Tier II/Tier III support. Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, the other interventionist, and special educators to design and implement an effective intervention program Monitor and track student progress Help administer diagnostic assessments, progress monitor and enter progress monitoring data as needed Required/Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills: Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited four-year college or university K-12 teaching experience Experience with Guided Reading, Benchmark assessments, progress monitoring and small group adult led instruction required Experience with Singapore Math program strongly preferred Training in Spalding Phonics and other reading intervention programs Strong knowledge of research-based math and literacy intervention strategies Ability to collaborate with many teachers, coaches, and administrators Ability to manage a flexible schedule and work with students in K-12 in reading, writing, math and sometimes social skill development as necessary Physical Functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 15 pounds approximately. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.
