The Assistant Teacher supports the preschool program by assisting teachers with education and supervision. They are also responsible for covering classrooms during teacher breaks and maintaining a safe environment according to state licensure.

The Assistant Teacher at Young Hearts Preschool will report to the School Director. The Assistant Teacher will support the program and assist teachers in the areas of education, supervision, and cover classrooms for teacher prep time and breaks.
Follow quality assurance measures to maintain excellence of program offerings, operations, and state licensure. Maintain regular communications with Teachers, School Director, and Assistant Director. Escalate incident reports to the School Director Partner to maintain a safe environment. Adhere to Great Hearts/Young Hearts policies, procedures, and business initiatives. Attend monthly meetings. Additional duties and projects assigned. Required/Preferred Education: High School Diploma - Preferred some ECE college courses Required/Preferred Experience: Some experience working in a licensed preschool program. Required/Preferred Skills: Exemplifies the heart of service to others. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Models mission and vision of Great Hearts and Young Hearts. Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build positive and strong relationships with all stakeholders. Achievement-oriented, willingness to work hard and take satisfaction from being productive. Physical Functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 15 pounds approximately. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.
