Description JOB SUMMARY The Interpreter serves families and children by providing translator services in Butler, Sedgwick, and Sumner Counties.
Translates for parents during in-home therapy appointments either in-person or by phone. Translates for evaluations and initial IFSP appointments. Communicates schedule availability with families and therapists to ensure needs are being met with no disruption in services. Confirms appointments with parents at least 24 hours in advance. Relays concepts and ideas between languages. Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED required. Associate/Bachelor's degree preferred. Fluency in both Spanish and English required. Education or work experience translating/interpreting preferred. Valid Drivers License and vehicle insurance required. Must have reliable transportation. Will be required to drive between 25-100 miles per day. Mileage reimbursed at the federal standard rate, currently $0.725 per mile.
Must be a self-starter and work independently as well as a great team player. Excellent written and verbal communication. Excellent people skills. Ability to perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements as outlined below. Strong organizational, interpersonal & communication skills required. Excellent problem-solving skills required.

Self-paced, requiring the ability to think and act quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced, demanding work environment.
This position operates in homes and community settings as needed.
May require frequent extended work days. Requires travel between community homes, childcares, other agencies, and Rainbows sites. May require occasional travel throughout the state.
6 - 7 hours in an 8 hour work shift; may occasionally alternate to standing or walking.
WEIGH FREQUENCY OBJECTS 1 - 10 lbs. Frequently Books, supplies and files. 11 - 20 lbs. Occasionally File boxes and copy supplies 20 - 35 lbs. Rarely Equipment and boxes of supplies.
