The coach is responsible for teaching football fundamentals and rules to middle school students. They must manage practices and games while coordinating with the Athletic Director on scheduling and transportation.

Description Primary Purpose

The Middle School football coach is responsible for teaching the game of football to our middle school students. They are responsible for teaching the fundamentals of the game and showing the players how to play the game of football.

Essential Functions Train and supervise students in the use of

Practice Games Teach players the rules of football and how to play the game of football Communicate with players and parents Work with the Athletic Director closely on scheduling and transportation. Follow the rules and policies set forth by Gehlen Catholic for eligibility requirements. Know and follow all rules and regulations of the IAHSAA. Uphold the values of our Catholic faith while leading their players.

Requirements

Must hold a valid Iowa coaching certification or license. Complete Virtus training Completed background checks CPR trained preferred but not required Knowledge of football from past playing or coaching experience
