SUMMARY The Preschool Teacher’s role is to lead one of the Preschool classes at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. This person needs to love kids, work well in a Preschool environment, be willing to adapt and be flexible on a day-to-day basis. This person will be a joyful presence on campus, embodying Christ to each family and staff member in our Preschool.

• RESPONSIBILITIES: Team First Assist Director of Preschool each week with requested tasks. Be part of a team that supports the “church-wide” gatherings and functions. Attend weekly Preschool team meetings and attend other staff meetings. Essence of Responsibilities Be responsible for creating and maintaining an inviting, well-organized, developmentally appropriate learning environment that meets the needs of the children in the classroom. Implement daily Bible curriculum and model Christian principles throughout the day. Observe and record children’s learning and development. Communicate with families and parents about their child’s progress, developments, and accomplishments during the year, as well as in formal parent/teacher conferences, twice a year. Assist in the development and implementation of the Preschool curriculum. Assist in the supervision of children during inside and outside time. Invite Daily setup and tear down the environment as needed. Create welcoming environments where children will be be inspired to learn and play. Utilize Preschool Manage software to communicate with parents on postings of photos, events, and stories. Nurture Maintain a professional attitude in communicating with the teachers, parents, children, and all other staff members. Teach children in line with the developmental approach and values of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Empower Complete general housekeeping tasks in order to facilitate a positive classroom environment. Fill out assessment reports for each child for bi-annual parent/teacher conferences. Complete yearly portfolios for children at the end of the school year. Develop a personal growth strategy to be shared with your supervisor so you are continually empowered to grow strengths and minimize weaknesses in your job duties and functions.

• RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition to normal responsibilities, this person is a member of a team dedicated to Christian service and should therefore seek, at all times, to conduct him/herself in a way that would be pleasing to the Lord. Ability to use a computer with the knowledge of Microsoft Office and Keynote programs. Must be available for occasional weekend or evening events. Perform other duties as requested by the Minister of Family Ministries and/or Director of Preschool.
