As the School Counselor, you will provide comprehensive counseling services that promote student well-being and academic achievement through prevention, intervention, and collaboration.
You will work closely with school leadership, teachers, families, and community partners to ensure every scholar has the support needed to thrive.
The School Counselor reports to the Principal.
Provide individual, small-group, and classroom counseling that supports students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development.
Develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with the school's academic and culture goals.
Deliver preventative social-emotional learning (SEL) lessons and interventions that promote student success and leadership development.
Identify students in need of academic, behavioral, or social-emotional support and develop appropriate intervention plans.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and support staff to identify barriers to learning and coordinate student supports.
Participate in MTSS, Child Study Team, IEP, and 504 meetings, providing recommendations to support student achievement and well-being.
Conduct student assessments, monitor progress, and use data to evaluate the effectiveness of counseling interventions and programs.
Provide crisis intervention, including suicide risk assessments, threat assessments, safety planning, and follow-up support in accordance with school policies and professional standards.
Serve as an active member of the school's Crisis Response Team and assist during campus emergencies and critical incidents.

Minimum Qualifications

Valid Arizona Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. Previous experience providing counseling services in a K-8 educational setting. Knowledge of MTSS, crisis intervention, student mental health, and social-emotional learning practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Arizona licensure as an LAC, LPC, LMSW, or LCSW. Experience providing counseling services in a K-8 school setting. Experience working in a Title I or diverse educational environment. Experience implementing a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with the ASCA National Model. Bilingual (Spanish/English).
