Special Education Teacher – Elementary Autism Program | Illinois | Maternity Leave Assignment

Clarifi Staffing Solutions is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide maternity leave coverage at an Illinois elementary school from August 13 through November 9. This full-time, school-based opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by supporting students in a structured, self-contained autism classroom.

In this role, you will work with a small caseload of nine students in grades 3–5, delivering individualized instruction that promotes academic, behavioral, communication, and social-emotional growth. You'll collaborate with related service providers, school staff, and families to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment while ensuring each student's unique educational needs are met.

Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs. Maintain accurate progress monitoring, documentation, and student records. Provide specialized instruction in a self-contained elementary autism classroom. Partner with families, general education staff, and multidisciplinary team members to support student success. Create a structured, engaging classroom environment that encourages independence and positive behavior.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field. Commitment to fostering student growth in a supportive educational setting. Experience working with students with autism or in a self-contained classroom is preferred. Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with the appropriate Special Education endorsement, or eligibility to obtain licensures.
