About the Role

The Campus Recreation part-time swim instructor position is established to teach people of all ages the importance of water safety and how to swim in a proper manner.

‌

Swim instructors must maintain the proper certifications and physical fitness required by industry standards. All in-service training sessions and staff meetings are mandatory.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide quality instruction for our group and private swim lesson programs.
  • Knowledge of teaching methods and course requirements outlined by the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program.
  • Keep records of students and classes taught and report all certifications to the Coordinator of Aquatics.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year teaching swim lessons OR team teaching with another experienced instructor for at least 2-4 sessions.
  • Any part-time swim instructor has to have an active lifeguard certification.

Work Schedule and Pay

$13.50/hour without WSI Certification/$17.00/hour with WSI Certification

Flexible schedule is available. The shifts will accommodate pool hours due to needed lifeguard coverage and also based on the client’s needs.
