Position Title: Swim Instructor (Temporary Staff) Position Type: Temporary
The Campus Recreation part-time swim instructor position is established to teach people of all ages the importance of water safety and how to swim in a proper manner. Swim instructors must maintain the proper certifications and physical fitness required by industry standards. All in-service training sessions and staff meetings are mandatory. Primary Responsibilities: Provide quality instruction for our group and private swim lesson programs. Knowledge of teaching methods and course requirements outlined by the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program. Keep records of students and classes taught and report all certifications to the Coordinator of Aquatics.
Minimum of 1 year teaching swim lessons OR team teaching with another experienced instructor for at least 2-4 sessions. Any part-time swim instructor has to have an active lifeguard certification. The shifts will accommodate pool hours due to needed lifeguard coverage and also based on the client’s needs.
