The Fitness Instructor leads fitness classes and develops lesson plans for students. Additionally, they manage social media content for the Commuter Group and handle class sign-ups and inquiries.
The Office of Student Engagement oversees community building programs, and seeks a student worker to support programming for commuter students. This position reports to the Associate Director for Recreation & Commuter Engagement. The New School was founded by forward-thinking educators in 1919 to defy the intellectual constraints of a traditional college education.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Recreation, & Commuter Engagement, the Fitness Instructor will be responsible for leading fitness classes, creating content for social media accounts, and acting as the point-person for inquiries and class sign ups.
• Prior experience/certification working as a fitness instructor is preferred.
$19 - $21 / hour

Applicants must be currently enrolled New School students eligible for Federal Work Study with past fitness experience. Prior certification as a fitness instructor is preferred.
