McGehee's Auxiliary Programs extend the school's mission beyond the academic day, giving girls a safe, engaging environment to grow socially, creatively, and emotionally. The Lower School Aftercare Assistant plays a meaningful role in this work — supervising outdoor and indoor free play, supporting Aftercare Specialists with structured activities, and helping ensure every student feels safe, included, and valued during her afternoon hours at McGehee.
About Our Aftercare Program Our Lower School aftercare program provides a safe, nurturing, and joyfully engaging environment where girls can unwind, connect with peers, and continue to grow after the regular school day ends. Students may enjoy free play on the playground or turf (weather permitting) or participate in themed group activities led by our Aftercare team — experiences designed to build confidence, belonging, and community. Reading and study space is also available for girls who are ready to take ownership of their academic work.
