• We are currently recruiting two Physical Education Teachers: one for grades K-8 and one for high school.
• THE QUEEN CITY DIFFERENCE Our small, family-like environment offers what other schools can't: Plainfield's first charter school, proudly serving scholars in grades K-12—with our network now expanding into Hillside Collaborative faculty and administration working together for student excellence Supportive, collegial setting that values professional growth Deeply engaged parent partners committed to their children's success Mission-driven culture focused on creating generational change YOU'LL THRIVE HERE IF YOU: Instruct using NJSLS and believe strongly in the connection between quality physical education and overall academic achievement Instruct students on the benefits of physical activity through a variety of sports Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students Evaluate student progress regularly and prepare progress reports Provide individual, small, and/or large group instruction to adapt the curriculum for students with varying intellectual, physical, and special abilities Stay current on content and instructional strategies that support your students and help all students succeed Learn and apply strategies to differentiate instruction for every learner in your classroom Build positive relationships with students so they feel seen, loved, and heard Partner with families to ensure appropriate resources are available to support their child's learning needs Engage in practice-based professional development, mentorship, and coaching sessions

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (minimum requirement) and certification as appropriate At least a Certificate of Eligibility (QCACS leadership can guide you toward full New Jersey certification) A valid New Jersey Certificate or proof of passing the required PRAXIS tests Cultural sensitivity and the ability to communicate with parents and students across lines of difference Mastery of subject matter content and a team-player mindset High expectations of students and a solid understanding of child development ABOUT US Queen City Academy Charter School is Plainfield, New Jersey's first charter school, proudly serving scholars in grades K-12—with our network now expanding into Hillside.
