Assist in the planning and execution of daily activities for school-age children in before and after school programs. Supervise children during outdoor play, fire drills, and bus transportation to ensure a safe and fun environment.
Description The Westfield Area YMCA is looking for caring, supportive and responsible individuals to join our team as Before Care and/or After Care Counselors for school age children (K-5th). We are seeking multiple candidates to work various shifts Monday through Friday between the hours of 7am - 9am and/or 2:30/3:00pm - 6:00pm. Flexible schedules available.
Counselors are expected to assist the Coordinator and Classroom/Group Supervisor in all aspects of planning, development and execution of the program daily activities.

Must be able to set up the classroom for activities in a safe manner. Assist with transporting of children by bus, as needed, always following bus policy and procedures. Help plan free play and learning center activities. Use positive reinforcement and ensure a fun and safe environment for all participants in the program. Be enthusiastic and encourage children involvement.
