This position provides support for medical students in the School of Medicine for St. Louis, MO. The duties include, but are not limited to coaching and advising career paths, programs, and future planning for our medical students through graduation.
Ponce Health Sciences University (PHSU) is seeking an Academic Advisor to provide support for medical students on our St. Louis campus. This individual should also maintain regular communication with our other campuses to ensure consistency and compatibility of academic support services across campuses.
The Academic Advisor should possess a graduate degree within medical/health professions programs.
To perform the job successfully, the Academic Advisor should demonstrate strong communication, data analysis, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret academic performance indicators and collaborate effectively with faculty, course directors, and Student Affairs. Familiarity with medical education structures, board preparation processes, and accreditation expectations, including LCME standards related to advising and student support, is preferred but not required.
