  • Summary/Purpose: The School of Applied Liberal Arts and of Social Sciences invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate Human Services credit-bearing courses. Successful candidates will be available to teach a synchronous online course that meets one evening per week at 6:00 PM. Adjunct faculty members report to the Human Services Program Director, who serves under the direction of the Dean. Adjunct faculty members provide students with high-quality learning experiences on a semester-by-semester basis. Adjunct faculty members are expected to perform all instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies, and procedures of Goodwin University.

  • Duties:
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Abiding by and upholding Goodwin's mission, policies, and core values. Teaching undergraduate and high school students in assigned course(s). Implementing assigned courses as designed and specified in approved syllabi. Using Canvas effectively. Assigning grades based on the criteria specified in course syllabi and posting them to Canvas and the University’s data systems within 7 days of assignment submission. Posting initial and midweek Canvas Announcements consistently each week. Providing students with individual consultations as needed. Assisting students with strategies for success in class. Providing action-oriented feedback on assignments, during synchronous class sessions, and individually. Communicating in a timely manner with students, faculty, and staff. Meeting all course and semester timelines, including submitting attendance, progress survey and student support alerts, mid-term grades, and final grades by the specified due dates. Staying current within the field of study.

  • QualificationsQualifications:
  • The successful candidate should have: Minimum Master’s Degree in a Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or other related discipline Experience working in human services, healthcare, education, or other related fields is essential. Demonstrated skill in teaching in an online environment Demonstrated ability to use web-based applications and learning management software Demonstrated dedication to excellence in teaching and a commitment to high academic and professional standards Effective verbal and written communication skills Excellent time management and organizational skills A commitment to the academic, emotional, and social development of all students. Requirements

Requires a minimum of a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related discipline. Candidates must have professional experience in human services or healthcare and demonstrated skill in online teaching.
