Summary The Modern Languages Department at Bentley University is accepting applications for a part-time Adjunct Lecturer, Spanish for the Fall 2026 semester. Applicants must be available to teach between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Courses are scheduled Monday-Wednesday and Tuesday-Friday. Primary Responsibilities: Teach Spanish Basic and Intermediate courses Create an effective classroom environment that fosters student’s curiosities and abilities to practice their language skills. Deliver course content that meets learning outcomes and encourage student’s active participation in the classroom and beyond. Promote the study of languages, including the Language, Culture and Business major. Collaborate in the development and continued assessment of learning outcomes for use in program reviews and curriculum revision. Hold office hours.
MA required. Native or near-native competency in Spanish is required. Have at least two years of teaching experience. Have experience using and developing a range of learning materials.
PhD preferred. Work Environment: Availability required between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Courses meet on Monday-Wednesday and Tuesday-Friday schedules. Compensation for adjunct faculty is governed by the collective bargaining agreement between Bentley University and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 509. For the 2026–27 academic year, adjunct faculty are compensated at a rate of $7,225.00 per course. Bentley University requires references checks and may conduct other pre-employment screening.
