The Athletic Trainer will provide sports medicine care to student athletes, manage daily operations of the sports medicine facilities, and cover daily practices and travel with the assigned team. Additional responsibilities include administrative tasks and mentorship of interns.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training is required, along with BOC certification and eligibility for Maryland State licensure. Preferred candidates will have 1-3 years of post-graduate experience in a collegiate or professional setting.
The Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA), founded in 1891, is a nonprofit organization whose objective is to "promote, influence, and assist in financing the varsity athletic programs of the midshipmen of the United States Naval Academy" in accordance with the policy of the Superintendent of the Academy. Through an intercollegiate athletics program that is one of the largest in the country, every midshipman is afforded the opportunity to compete in athletics at the Division I level. The emphasis on physical fitness is borne out in the first line of the mission of the U.S. Naval Academy: To develop midshipmen morally, mentally and physically.
The Naval Academy Athletic Association is accepting applications for a Certified Athletic Trainer. The specific sport assignment for this position is assisting with Track and Field and Women’s Triathlon. There are 2 Athletic Trainers dedicated to the Track and Field program.
include but are not limited to practicing sports medicine care to all student athletes as needed, daily operation and maintenance of the sports medicine facilities, along with daily practice coverage and travel with the assigned team. The Athletic Trainer will also be expected to perform administrative duties, along with other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine.
Experience, Education, & Certification(s)
Follows the Board of Certification (BOC) Standards of Professional Practice, NATA Code of Ethics, and the State Practice Act
Prefer 1-3 years of post-graduate experience at the collegiate or professional level.
Travel required with assigned teams as needed.
