Teacher Assistant

About the Role

• The Teacher Assistant at HoneyTree Early Learning Centers, Inc (HTELC) plays a vital role in supporting lead teachers to create a nurturing and effective learning environment for young children.
• This position focuses on assisting with classroom management and preparing instructional materials.
• The Teacher Assistant will help maintain accurate student records and support creative learning activities.
• By collaborating closely with teachers and staff, the assistant contributes to the smooth operation of the learning center and promotes a positive, engaging atmosphere for children’s growth.
• Ultimately, this role is essential in ensuring that each child receives the support and encouragement needed to thrive within the early learning setting.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required;
• Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting.
• Basic knowledge of classroom management and instructional support techniques.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and handle confidential information responsibly.
• Effective communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers in preparing and organizing classroom materials and activities.
• Support students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts and skills.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including attendance.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to monitor student behavior and provide leadership in maintaining a positive classroom environment.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of learning center initiatives.
• Log daily activities and observations to assist in evaluating student progress and classroom effectiveness.

This is a part time position with hours between 2

00pm - 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. Additional hours may be available during public school breaks and holidays.
