- What You Will Do
- Remain current with new trends and development in your field of expertise
- Supervise and provide formal or informal instruction to athletic training students in the clinical setting
- Test clinical proficiency on a weekly basis; submit proficiency grades to Athletic Training Education Program in a timely manner
- Verify students are meeting their hour requirements for successful completion of the clinical course
- Support program initiatives and demonstrate alignment with the philosophy and direction of the University
- Provide a positive example by supporting GCU’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission
- What You Will Bring
- A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 1 year Board of Training certification (please attach to application)
- Arizona state athletic training license (please attach to application]
- Must successfully pass a drug screen test.
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
- Must be a current staff member with managerial approval, salaried status, rather than hourly.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build supportive relationships with students
- Proficiency in English, grammar, and APA writing
- Commitment to modeling GCU’s mission and values
Minimum Requirements
- If
- Athletic
- Trainer: Active and Unencumbered Athletic Training License;A ctive and Unencumbered Athletic Training Certification; Evidence of contemporary expertise for preceptorship
- If other Health Care Provider (such as, MD, DO, PA, PT, etc.): Active and Unencumbered Professional License (if required by State); Active and Unencumbered Certification; Evidence of contemporary expertise for preceptorship
- Preferred - Previous Preceptor Experience
