Required: (please be specific and respond to every question; indicate none if not applicable) Education required to ensure success in this position: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Experience required to ensure success in this position: In-house training program up to two months. Special skills, knowledge, and abilities: Ability to perform basic mathematics, add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Must be able to read and comprehend nosiness periodicals, emails, and memos. Effective communication skills. Can effectively present information in a one-on-one or small group situation. Good problem-solving skills. License, certification, or registration necessary: A valid Tennessee Driver’s License is required. TN Unarmed Security Officer Certification or will need to complete certification within 3 weeks of hire. Annual CPR/AED certification. Physical requirements: Ability to navigate campus/public buildings and grounds. May be required to lift/move up to 25 pounds. Must be able to stand, walk, run, sit, and handle objects for long intervals of time. Environmental conditions: May be exposed to outside work conditions including, rain, extreme heat, extreme cold, and humid conditions. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Ability to operate the following vehicles or equipment: Able to drive a motorized vehicle. Primary duties and responsibilities (Typically ~7 primary duties comprised of 80% of the responsibilities): To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Safely operates motorized vehicles (MC Security vehicle, golf carts, utility vehicles) and obeys all traffic laws. Subject to working overtime, weekends, holidays, and nights. Maintains a professional image and promotes positive public relations. Completes shift reports detailing activities that occurred during shift. Completes Tennessee Incident Based Reporting System (TIBRS) reports and narratives documenting Group A and B crime incidents that occur on MC property. Completes Safety & Security Department reports as required by Director. Observe activities, circumstances, or abnormal situations, and take the actions necessary to resolve them. Responds to and investigates a variety of incidents occurring on campus i.e. theft, disorderly conduct, vandalism, alcohol violations, drug violations, motor vehicle accidents, etc. Other roles/duties will be assigned as necessary to assist the College in the attainment of the goals set forth and the enhancement of a positive, respectful learning environment for all staff, faculty, and students.
