Description The YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley is hiring for multiple positions for our "Y Care" program, which is a licensed before and after school program operating in the Rome, Oneida, Whitesboro, Stockbridge, VVS, Waterville, NYMills and other Central NY and Mohawk Valley elementary schools. Applicants must be able to work from 3-6PM, M-F, or mornings from 7-9, or both. We are seeking qualified applicants who enjoy working with children, implement lesson plans, use positive reinforcement, and able to comply with NYS OCFS regulations. Establish positive relationships with parents, children, school personnel and other staff members. Be a positive role model. 2. Assist the Group Teacher in implementing quality program curriculum and lesson plans of the daily program, including arts and crafts, active games, and snack. 3. Assist with supervision of children. Maintain that children are never left alone. Make sure all children are watched at all times. 4. Assist with positive reinforcement and disciplinary needs of children. 5. Assist win maintain a physically and mentally safe environment for the children. 6. Actively support and participate in YMCA functions as notified by the School Age Child Care Director. 7. Attend all required staff meetings and give input on programming issues. 8. Assist with record-keeping including daily attendance, monthly supply request, DSS paperwork, newsletter information, and lesson plans. Meet all required deadlines. 9. Follow and enforce Association and departmental policies, including the substitute policy. 10. Attend YMCA program for snow days and other school holidays/vacation days/days off as needed by the YMCA. 11. Substitute at other YMCA SACC sites as required. 12. Actively pursue training and learning opportunities and certifications relating to the position. Maintain current certifications required by the position. 13. Is committed to maintaining a workplace free from all forms of harassment 14. Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth. 15. Attends required abuse risk management training. 16. Adheres to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising youth. 17. Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations. 18. Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements.
