Position Summary

An advanced and versatile position within Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the "super floater," also known as a floating behavior technician. This role is essential for maintaining continuity of care across various home and clinic settings by providing immediate coverage when therapists are absent. Additionally, these professionals offer critical support for cases involving high-risk behaviors and facilitate necessary breaks for frontline staff. Core Responsibilities of the Super Floater Immediate Coverage and Continuity of Care: Step in for planned or last-minute staff absences (call-outs) to execute 1:1 therapy and individualized behavior programs without disrupting the client's routine. Super floaters prioritize in-person Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training to safely handle cases involving physical aggression. They may also facilitate necessary breaks for frontline staff to prevent burnout in high-intensity cases. Administrative and Clinical Support: Fill gaps in the clinic by managing data collection, graphing, building teaching materials, and running clinical prep work. This includes ensuring all session notes are converted within the required 24-hour deadline to maintain billing accuracy. Regional Flexibility: Maintain the ability to travel between multiple service locations, including clinics, schools, and in-home settings, within a designated regional radius in Glendale Qualifications & Requirements Credentialing & Technical Proficiency: Candidates typically require an active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential or advanced supervision degrees such as BCaBA or BCBA. Professional Experience: Applicants should possess 1 to 2+ years of hands-on experience implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles. Senior roles may require more extensive backgrounds, such as 3.5 to 11 years of experience with diverse behavioral profiles across various age groups and settings. Adaptability & Versatility: There is an exceptional capacity requirement to adjust quickly to new environments, including home, clinic, and school settings. Staff must be prepared for fast-paced operational changes and possess the ability to manage diverse learners with severe behavioral needs. Background Clearance & Logistics: Successful candidates must maintain clean background checks, including Live Scan and Checkr clearances. Valid driver's licenses and reliable personal transportation are mandatory to accommodate regional travel requirements, particularly across locations in Glendale, Ventura County, and the San Fernando Valley. Education & Compliance: Many positions require at least a bachelor's degree, often in sociology or related fields.
