Job description

Job summary

  • Under supervision, the Assistant Volleyball Coach supports the head coach in coaching, operations, recruiting, and fundraising.
  • This position is renewable for the next academic year, conditional upon satisfactory performance, availability of funds, and adherence to all Post University academic requirements and employment protocols.
  • The Assistant Coach assists in planning and directing student-athlete training and assesses individuals' abilities and skill levels to determine appropriate team positions; assists players in reaching the highest athletic potential possible through athletic training and leadership skills.
  • Must be familiar with NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a specified sport.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of tasks.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Post University is a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) member.

Work Location: Waterbury, CT

Anticipated Start: August 2026

Compensation: Stipend (10 months)

Hours: At least 20 hours per week (additional hours expected on busier weeks)

  • Primary responsibilities
  • Input compliance information into Frontrush software.
  • Assist the head coach in scouting opponents.
  • This position requires the ability to break down and evaluate film through Hudl.
  • Supports a positive and competitive team environment.
  • Be involved in on-campus recruiting visits.
  • Assists with community service initiatives and program fundraising efforts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned; may have other duties assigned in the athletic department as needed.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Working knowledge of NCAA Division I/II rules.
  • Collegiate coaching and/or playing experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license
  • Ability to work both traditional and non-traditional business hours.

Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates should possess a bachelor's degree and be fully admitted into one of Post University's graduate programs.
  • Candidate should have playing experience at the NCAA level.
  • Required to work at least 20 hours per week during the academic school year based on the credit hours attempted.
