As a Program Leader, ELOP Grant, you'll help create a safe, welcoming, and engaging after school environment where TK through 8th grade students can learn, play, explore new interests, and build meaningful relationships. From leading enrichment clubs and supporting homework to organizing games and hands on activities, you'll help children discover new skills while creating experiences they'll remember long after the school day ends. Working as part of a grant funded after school program, you'll play an important role in helping students build confidence, strengthen academic success, and experience a true sense of belonging. Lead hands on enrichment activities, homework support, recreation, and skill based clubs that inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence. Build meaningful relationships with students, families, school staff, and fellow Team Members while serving as a positive role model. Encourage teamwork, positive behavior, and a sense of belonging by creating experiences where every child can succeed. Help ensure the program operates safely and effectively while supporting the YMCA's commitment to youth development, academic success, and community well-being. Schedule This is a part-time, seasonal position that follows the school calendar. Program Leaders typically work Monday through
  • Friday on school days, with shifts generally scheduled between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., averaging 18 to 21 hours per week. Paid training and professional development are provided throughout the school year, and additional opportunities for work may be available during school breaks, including summer day camp and other YMCA youth programs. Who We're Looking For This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with children, leads with positivity, and believes every child deserves a place where they feel safe, supported, and valued. Whether you're a college student exploring a career in education, an aspiring teacher, or someone who simply enjoys mentoring young people, you'll thrive in this role if you bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine passion for youth development. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications Eighteen (18) years of age or older. High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working with School-Age children in a group setting. Experience leading enrichment activities, recreation, academics, sports, arts, or other skill based programs. Strong communication skills, emotional maturity, and the ability to build positive, authentic relationships with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
